Catering for taddinam

Yearly shraddham cooking on the right tithi — at your home or delivered from our kitchen — the way your family has always done it.

Yearly shraddham

Remembering them, every year

Once the first year is complete, the taddinam returns every year on the same tithi. It is usually a small, quiet ceremony — but one families never want to get wrong.

Fewer homes today have someone who can cook a full shraddha menu, and fewer still have the time on a working day. We cook the traditional leaf for the bhoktas and the family in madi, with the items your purohit needs ready first.

Many families have booked their taddinam with us for years. We know their menu, their customs and their bhoktas — and each year, the leaf looks the way it always has.

Every shraddha of the year

Most families have more than one shraddha to perform each year. We can take care of all of them.

Father's taddinam

On his tithi each year, with the menu your family follows for him.

Mother's taddinam

On her tithi, cooked separately with the same care and rules.

Mahalaya paksham

Shraddha for the ancestors during the pitru paksham fortnight. Dates fill early, so book ahead.

Other shraddhas

Any other shraddha your purohit advises for grandparents or elders.

Tell us once, and we will remember

The tithi moves every year, but your family's details don't. Here is how regular families book with us.

  1. Share the tithi

Tell us whose taddinam it is, the tithi and masam, and your family's menu and customs.

  2. We keep it on file

Your address, the number of bhoktas and your menu are noted so you never repeat yourself.

  3. Confirm the date each year

Once your purohit gives the English date for that year, just send it on WhatsApp.

  4. Same leaf, every year

We cook at your home or deliver, exactly as the year before.

We cook at your home

Our cook arrives in madi about three hours before the muhurtham, prepares the ritual items first and serves the bhoktas on the leaf.

Taddinam (also called shraddham or tithi) is the annual shraddha performed every year on the tithi of a parent's or elder's passing, after the first-year aabdikam is complete. Bhoktas are fed a traditional shraddha meal in their memory.

It follows the Telugu lunar calendar, so the tithi falls on a different English date each year. Your purohit or the panchangam gives the exact day — share it with us once you have it.

Yes. Many families have booked their yearly taddinam with us for years. Tell us the tithi once and we can note it, so you only need to confirm the date each year.

Of course. Many families perform two or more taddinams a year. We keep a note of each one and the family's menu for it.

Yes. During Mahalaya paksham many families perform shraddha for their ancestors. The same traditional menu and rules apply, and dates in that fortnight fill up early, so please book ahead.

Most taddinams are small — the bhoktas and the family, often three to fifteen people. We cook for anything from a single bhokta up to fifty guests.
